THE STORYLINE
Bradley officially will open the Geno Ford coaching era Sunday when the Braves host UMKC in the 2011-12 regular-season opener at Carver Arena ... In addition to Bradley's 108th all-time season-opener, Sunday's game against the Kangaroos comes in the first round of the exempt Chicago Invitational Challege, which will continue Nov. 22 versus Wofford, before moving to a neutral site at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, Ill., Nov. 25-26 ... Ford was 3-0 in season-openers at Kent State in his first three seasons as a Division I head coach and first-year Bradley coaches are 9-3 all-time in their first games with the Braves ... Sunday's game also should mark the official return to the court of senior forward Taylor Brown, who missed the entire 2010-11 season for cardiac evaluation, but averaged 23.0 ppg in Bradley's two preseason exhibitions.

THE SERIES
UMKC won the only previous meeting between the two teams, taking a 73-61 decision Nov. 24, 2008 during the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic at Florida Gulf Coast... Bradley owns a 30-9 all-time record against current Summit League members.
