PEORIA, Ill. - Bradley senior sweeper Bobby Smith (Springfield, Ill./Sacred Heart-Griffin H.S.) has repeated as a selection for the Capital One Academic All-District V team, as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America and announced this afternoon.

Smith boasts a 3.93 cumulative grade point average and will graduate in four years in May from Bradley's Accounting 3:2 program, a 5-year program that awards both a bachelor's degree and master's degree upon completion.  After helping the Braves to the 2010 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, Smith is third among Bradley's field players, logging 1,239 minutes while helping the Braves to one of the best regular-seasons in program history.  He now becomes eligible for Capital One Academic All-America consideration.

Bradley (12-4-2) began the week ranked 26th in the NCAA Ratings Percentage Index and the Braves enter Saturday's game at Central Arkansas with a chance to claim a share of the MVC regular-season title.

Now a two-time Capital One Academic All-District V pick, Smith also is one of 10 national finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award in men's soccer, which honors senior student-athletes from 10 different sports for great achievement during competition and in their community while staying in school.  The general public is given the opportunity to vote for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and voting for the men's soccer award will continue online through Nov. 14 at www.seniorclassaward.com and on the award's Facebook fan page.

In order to be eligible for Capital One Academic All-America program, student-athletes must be starters or important reserves with a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) at his/her institution.  Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form and must have reached sophomore in athletic eligibility with at least one full year completed at the nominating institution.
