FRISCO, Texas - Former Bradley star Chris Roberts made an impressive return to the NBA Development League's Texas Legends Wednesday night, scoring 17 points off the bench in a 112-108 home victory versus the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
Roberts originally signed with the Legends late in the 2010-11 season, playing in 11 games for the D-League squad. He started the 2011-12 campaign in Mexico, averaging 15.5 ppg on 56.3 percent shooting in 28 games for Fuerza Regia.
In his Wednesday debut for the Legends, Roberts made 7-of-13 field goal attempts, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, and added five rebounds, a blocked shot and a steal.
Roberts and the Legends will return to action tonight in a rematch against a D-Fenders squad that could feature former Bradley center Zach Andrews. Andrews originally made the 2011-12 D-Fenders roster following a local tryout, but was added to the NBA Los Angeles Lakers training camp roster two weeks ago. The 6-foot-9 athletic post player is not listed on the Lakers opening-day roster, however.
