PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley track and field team will have its final tune-up before the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 26 & 27), taking part in the Panther Tune-Up in Milwaukee, Wis., Friday.
Action at the Klotsche Center is slated to begin at 4 p.m. with the Braves scheduled to have 16 competitors in a total of six events.
Fresh off setting the school record in the indoor mile at last week's Iowa State Classic, senior Mary Goldkamp (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) will drop down the 800 meters, where she looks to improve on her season-best time of 2:22.75. Goldkamp will also take part in the 4x400 meters.
Bradley will have a total of eight runners in the 800 meter field, including junior Michelle Hartman (Savanna, Ill./Prince of Peace). She clocked a personal and team-best time of 2:19.62 last week in Ames, Iowa, and looks to build momentum heading into next week's Valley championship.
Helping headline five Bradley runners in the mile are senior Lauren Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) along with the freshmen duo of Whitney Schumacher (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) and Cassie Lohmeier. Fog has Bradley's top performance in the 5,000 meters, while Schumacher's (5:12.55) and Lohmeier's (5:20.83) times in the mile are second and third on the squad behind Goldkamp's record-setting performance.
Junior Tatierra Bivens (Chicago, Ill./Marist) will run in the 60 meters and is one of two Braves in the 200 meters. In addition, junior Lyndsey Cleghorn (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) cleared a season-best 1.57 in the high jump at the Iowa State Classic and is one of two Bradley competitors in the field in the event.
