NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Bradley men's golf team shot its lowest round of the spring and second lowest round of the year with a 300 to finish fourth in the Battle at the Warren Tuesday in the team's final event before the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship later this month.

The Braves' 300 was the team's lowest score since shooting 297 in the second round of the UMKC Invitational back on Oct. 18.  Four individuals fired rounds in the 70's Tuesday at the par-71 Warren Golf Course.

Freshman Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) matched his lowest round of the year with a two-over par 73 to tie for low round honors of the day for BU.  Senior Coby Thompson (East Galesburg, Ill./Knoxville) also shot a 73 to tie Jerry Young (1973-77) for fourth at BU in career sub-80 rounds with his 79th career round in the 70's.

Travis Kreiter (Brimfield, Ill./Brimfield) finished three shots behind Thompson and Young at 76, while freshman Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) fired a 78 Tuesday.  Andrew Weisenborn (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) rounded out the scoring for the Braves with an 84.

Tournament-host Notre Dame won the team title with a three-under par 281, finishing 11 shots ahead of second-place Oakland (292).  Detroit edged Bradley by three shots for third place (297) and the Braves followed in fourth at 300.  Jackson State was two shots back of BU in fifth at 302 to complete the field.

Bradley returns to action April 25 & 26 at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.
