OMAHA, Neb. -- Freshman Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) highlighted a five-run second inning with a grand slam and drove in a season-best five runs on the day to help power Bradley to a 9-4 victory against Creighton Sunday in the final game of a three-game series.

Lynch-Crumrine went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and five RBI to highlight Bradley's offensive attack which finished with its highest run total since topping Kansas 10-7 back on March 4.  The Braves picked up their first road win of the season and also earned their first conference victory of the year.

Creighton scored the first run of the game, plating an unearned run after Ellen Homan reached on an error to open the inning and later scored to give the Bluejays a 1-0 advantage.

Bradley (8-26 overall, 1-6 MVC) used the long ball to take the lead.  Senior Denise Jilka (Eureka, Mo./Eureka) hit a solo home run in the top of the second and Lynch-Crumrine belted a grand slam in the top of the third during a five-run inning for the Braves.

Junior Jackie Roth (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) led off the third with a double and senior Brittany Fairbairn (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East/Kankakee C.C.) followed with a bunt single.  Senior Kate Singler (Witt, Ill./Nokomis/Heartland C.C.) walked to load the bases and Lynch-Crumrine put Bradley in front with her first career grand slam.

Jilka drew a one-out walk later in the inning and eventually scored on a single off the bat of freshman Alex Chandler (Needles, Calif./Needles) to push Bradley's lead to 6-1.

Creighton's Amy Baker slugged her league-leading 13th home run of the season, hitting a one-out solo blast in the bottom of the fifth to cut BU's advantage to 6-2, but the Braves scored three more times in the top of the seventh to take a commanding 9-2 lead.

Singler led off the inning with a double and Lynch-Crumrine drove in her fifth run of the game with a double to right center to plate Singler.  After Bradley loaded the bases with two outs, senior Katelyn Kegley (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) drove in two more runs with a pinch hit single to left.

The Bluejays (14-16 overall, 4-2 MVC) scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run homer by Christa Ruf, but junior Lindsay Hufeld (Mapleton, Ill./Limestone/Illinois Central) settled down and closed out the win.  Hufeld matched a season-high with seven strikeouts and walked just one in the complete game victory to improve to 3-11.

Bradley roughed up Creighton starter Becca Changstrom for six runs in 2.1 innings as she took the loss to drop to 10-7.

The Braves return to action Tuesday, closing a five-game road swing with a 6 p.m. game at I-74 rival Illinois State.
