OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton scored three runs in the second inning and rode the fast start to a 10-1 win against Bradley (20-21, 2-9 MVC) to take the second game of the weekend Missouri Valley Conference series at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha and secure the series win.

Falling for the 13th time in 15 games, the Braves have dropped below .500 for the first time this season, while Creighton (30-10, 8-3) maintains its spot atop the league standings.

Trever Adams hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the second inning to give the Bluejays a 1-0 lead.  Three more hits and a sacrifice fly extended the lead to 3-0.  The Braves got one run back in the top of the third catcher James Kottaras singled, advanced to second on an error by the Creighton rightfielder and third on a David Compitello sacrifice and scored on a Rob Elliott ground out.

With starting pitcher Jonas Dufek (7-1) and reliever Mark Winkelman keeping the Braves off the board the rest of the way, Creighton steadily stretched its lead by adding one run in the fifth and one in the sixth, before breaking the game open with a 5-run eighth inning.

Junior lefthander Tory Doerr (2-2) took the loss by allowing four runs on four hits in his 4.0 innings of work.  Dufek scattered five Bradley hits and walked one, while striking out seven in his 8.0 innings.
