INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Former Bradley Basketball star Andrew Warren (Indianapolis, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit Prep) has become the latest Brave to join the pro ranks after last week signing with Cairns Taipans in the Australian National Basketball League.

As a senior this past season, Warren became the ninth player in school history to lead the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring by averaging 18.8 points per game.  A first-team All-MVC and NABC All-District 16 selection, Warren also led The Valley with 2.4 3-point field goals per game, 4.2 free throws made per game and 36.7 minutes played per game.   His streak of 40 consecutive free throws made from Dec. 4-Jan. 4 was the longest in the nation last season and in the regular-season finale against Drake, Warren became the only player in the country during the 2010-11 season to record at least 30 points (33), 10 rebounds (11), five assists (5) and four steals (4) in a game.

Warren finished his five-year Bradley career 10th in program history with 1,621 points, while also finishing second in career free throw percentage (.844), third in career 3-point field goals made (225) and seventh in career 3-point field goal percentage (.402).

Cairns Taipans finished third in the 2010-11 Australia NBL regular season and was the runner-up in the 2011 NBL Play-Offs, dropping the best-of-three championship series to New Zealand Breakers 2-games-to-1.  Cairns Taipans is scheduled to open the 2011-12 season Oct. 8 and Warren is on his way today to join the club for the start of preseason training camp.

Warren becomes the fifth former Bradley men's basketball to sign a pro contract for the 2011-12 season, although several other former Braves are expected to suit up again this season.  Twelve former Braves played professionally around the world during the 2010-11 season.
