MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The first two rounds of doubles play has been completed and singles action is underway during the first day of the 2011 Gopher Invitational women's tennis tournament.  Results will be updated throughout the tournament and posted online at www.GopherSports.com and periodic updates on the progress of the Braves will be posted at www.BradleyBraves.com.

In the Gray Doubles Flight, the Bradley grouping of Jessie Bertino and Meredith McDonagh earned an 8-3 win against the Louisiana State pairing of Paige Bahnsen and Hayley Everett in the 10 a.m. opening round.  In the upper half of the same flight, the Bradley duo of Elizabeth Przystawski and Cassia Wojtalik also earned an opening-round victory with an 8-2 triumph versus the Gustavus Aldophus tandem of Heather Annis and Emily Roediger.

Bradley has a third team in the Gray Doubles Flight and the duo of Adele Henke and Corey Mattson received a first-round bye.  All three doubles teams were scheduled to play their second-round matches at 11:15 Friday morning.   All three Bradley teams in the Gray Doubles Flight dropped their second-round matches, however, and all three will return to action at 9 a.m. Saturday.  In an unusual twist, Bertino/McDonagh will square off against Henke/Mattson Saturday morning for a spot in the bracket's third-place match Sunday.
