PEORIA, Ill. - Freshman Carly Miles and sophomore Meredith McDonagh won both of their singles and doubles matches against Chicago State Sunday, but it was not enough as the Braves (0-2 overall) dropped a 4-3 decision to the Cougars (1-2 overall).
Bradley took two out of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Miles and sophomore Adele Henke teamed up for an 8-3 win at #2 doubles, while McDonagh joined Elizabeth Przystawski at #3 doubles for another 8-3 victory.
Miles and McDonagh both won easily in their singles matches. Miles won her #5 singles match 6-1, 6-2 and McDonagh topped her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at #6 singles. Pryzystawski nearly pulled out a three-set win at #4 singles, but ended up losing 7-5, 6-2, 6-4.
Bradley returns to action next Friday against St. Louis at 1 p.m. at the Clubs at River City. The match will be the first of three next weekend, as the Braves will take on SIU Edwardsville on Saturday and Northern Illinois on Sunday.
