KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. -- Sophomore Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) shot his team-leading eighth round in the 70's, wrapping up the Fall schedule with a final-round 75 and the Bradley men's golf team tied for 24th in the team standings at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate Tuesday.
The Braves shot 307 in the final day to move up into a tie with Butler for 24th overall at 947. Trolia helped highlight Tuesday's action at the par-71 Turtle Point Golf Club at the Kiawah Island Resort with a final-round 75 and tied for 51st in the field with a 54-hole score of 230. His final round 75 was his team-leading eighth round in the 70's and helped Trolia close out the fall with a team-best 76.7 season stroke average.
Freshman Garrett Cox (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) turned in his best round of the tournament, carding a third-round 77 and was eight shots behind Trolia in a tie for 89th at 238. Sophomore Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) tied for 105th in the individual standings at 240, following a final round 80.
Matching Trolia for the best third-round score was junior Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian), whose four-over par 75 was one off his season-low round. Gunther tied for 113th overall at 242. Junior Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) rounded out the scoring for Bradley with a third-round 81 to tie for 123rd at 245.
South Caronlina ran away with the team title, winning by 20 strokes with a three-round total of 859. Winthrop was second overall 879 and the top five was rounded out by Jacksonville State (3rd - 885), College of Charleston (4th - 890) and Marquette (5th - 896), respectively.
Bradley and Butler finished 14 shots better than 26th-place Mount St. Mary's and the pair were 17 shots back of 23rd-place Loyola (Md.).
