EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Junior Lauren Zerante (Elmhurst, Ill./York) finished one dig short of tying the Bradley record for digs in a three-set match, collecting 21; but Evansville got revenge for a BU sweep earlier this season with a 25-14, 25-21, 25-19 victory Friday at the Carson Center.

Sophomore Courtney Keefe (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) led the Braves (9-18 overall, 3-13 MVC) with nine kills and junior Amy Angelos (Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan) added eight kills as the Braves opened a three-match road swing with the loss.

Evansville (9-19 overall, 4-11 MVC) held a 13-12 lead in the opening set before pulling away.  Ashley Ring sparked a 12-2 Aces run with a kill and later added three service aces as UE went on to take the opening 25-14.  The Purple Aces hit .400 in the opening set compared to .125 for the Braves.

Angelos notched four of her eight kills in the second set, but it wasn't enough for the Braves as Evansville used a late push to pull out a 25-21 win.  The score was knotted at 19-19 and BU trailed 22-21 following an Allie Falter (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) ace before Hannah Wilson notched back-to-back kills for the Aces and a Bradley attack error finished the set.

The Purple Aces collected 24 digs in the third set and limited Bradley to an .020 attack percentage, taking the third set 25-19 to complete the sweep.  Evansville came up with five blocks in the third set and got 11 points off BU attack errors in the frame.  Wilson accounted for three of UE's final five points with kills as the Aces took the third set 25-19.

No player in the match reached double figures in kills with Keefe matching Evansville's Ring and Wilson for match-high honors with nine kills each.

Zerante's 21 digs helped push her season total to 477 digs, which ranks as the fourth best dig total in school history.  Freshman Jessie Tulacka (Westmont, Ill./Downers Grove North) added 10 digs to help lead Bradley's defensive efforts.  Falter recorded a pair of blocks to push her season block total to 100, marking the first 100 block season by a Brave since 2004.

Bradley continues the final road swing of the season Saturday with a 7 p.m. match at Southern Illinois in Carbondale, Ill.
