Amy Angelos Named Country Financial Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior middle blocker Amy Angelos (Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after averaging 3.57 kills per set in a pair of road matches last week.

Angelos hit a combined .345 in the two matches last week and added 0.71 blocks per set to go along with her team-best 3.57 kills-per-set average as Bradley opened a three-match road swing with contests at Evansville and Southern Illinois.  She started the week with eight kills and three blocks in a three-set match at Evansville, before capping the weekend with a season-best 17 kills at Southern Illinois.  Angelos attacked at a .467 clip against the Salukis and added a pair of blocks in the four-set match.  A hospitality leadership major, Angelos owns a 3.16 cumulative grade point average. 
 
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Angelos and the Braves close out the 2012 season Saturday with a 7 p.m. match at Northern Iowa.
