PEORIA, Ill. – The Bradley Basketball team added a second player to its 2013 recruiting class today with the signing of 6-foot-7 small forward Michael Tucker. A native of Covington, Ga., Tucker is currently enrolled at Quality Education Academy in Winston-Salem, N.C., the same prep school that produced Bradley sophomore guard Anthony Fields.
Tucker, a 200-pounder who has grown eight inches in the last two years, attended Alcovy High School in his hometown before transferring to Quality Education Academy this year and averaged 12 points and six rebounds last season. He will have four years of eligibility remaining when he joins the Braves as a freshman for the 2013-14 season.
“We're really excited to add Michael to our fall recruiting class,” said second-year Bradley head coach Geno Ford. “He is an extremely gifted, athletic scoring wing who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. He is a great teammate and a diligent student and he'll be a positive member of the Bradley family on and off the floor.”
Tucker joins 6-foot-5 Serbian national Stefan Zecevic in Bradley's 2013 recruiting class.
The 2012-13 Bradley roster includes four seniors, leaving two available scholarships in this year's recruiting class.
Bradley is off to a 3-0 start for the second time in three years and the Braves will shoot for their fourth consecutive win Tuesday night when they visit South Florida, a 6:30 p.m. CT tip from the USF Sun Dome.
