After winning a pair of exhibition games versus NCAA Division II competition by an average of 21.0 ppg in the preseason, Bradley officially will open its 109th men's basketball season Friday night by hosting in-state rival Eastern Illinois at Carver Arena ... Bradley is opening the season at home for the third consecutive year and the Braves have won 19 consecutive home openers, regardless of when in the schedule the first home game was played, since an 83-49 loss to Utah Dec. 5, 1992 at Carver Arena ... Bradley is 28-2 all-time in home openers at Carver Arena and the Braves are 63-4 in home openers since resuming athletics competition after World War II ... Though separated by only 140 miles, Wednesday's game will be just the 11th all-time meeting between Bradley and Eastern Illinois and only the third matchup since 1927 ... The series is tied, 5-5, and Eastern Illinois won the last meeting, 63-56, Nov. 24, 2010 at Carver Arena.
