BRAVES CLUB GAMEDAY LUNCHEON
Head coaches Geno Ford and Mike Lonergan will be the featured speakers at the season's second Braves Club Gameday Luncheon, presented by Herget Bank … Tuesday's luncheon will be held in the Bradley University Michel Student Center Ballroom … Doors will open at 11:15 a.m. and the speaking program will begin at noon … Tickets are $20 for Braves Club members, $25 for non-members and may be reserved by contacting the Braves Club Office at 309-677-2667.

 

Tip-Off
After equalling the program record for November victories during a 5-1 start, Bradley will be trying to halt a six-game December losing streak Tuesday night when the Braves host George Washington at Carver Arena … Ironically, the last team the Braves beat during the month of December was George Washington, a 67-66 victory Dec. 15, 2011 in Washington, D.C. … Coming off Saturday's 74-66 loss to #3 Michigan, Bradley will be trying to avoid its first losing streak of the season, while the Colonials will be trying for their third consecutive win for the first time since sweeping through the first three rounds of the Progressive CBE Classic Nov. 21-23, 2011 versus Detroit, Austin Peay and host Bowling Green … Tuesday's game will be the sixth all-time meeting in the series, which has consisted of three different 2-year, home-and-home arrangements (1939-40, 1998-99 and 2011-12) … Bradley owns a 3-2 series lead and will be trying for its third straight win against GW.

Tuesday's game will be the sixth meeting in the all-time series against GW, a series marked by three, 2-year home-and-home matchups … Bradley is 2-0 at home against the Colonials, starting the series with a 46-38 victory Feb. 15, 1939 at the old Peoria Armory and adding a 75-65 win Dec. 8, 1999 at Carver Arena.

 

A-10 Matchups
Bradley has played 15 of the 16 current members of the Atlantic 10 Conference, missing only Rhode Island, but the Braves have played just eight games against the current membership as A-10 members … Bradley is 5-3 all-time in those games against the A-10:  George Washington (2-1), Richmond (1-0), Saint Joseph's (1-1) and Temple (1-1) … Tuesday's game will be the sixth home game played against a team that was in the Atlantic 10 Conference at the time of the game and the Braves are 5-0 at home against A-10 competition.

Last Year's Meeting
Bradley, 67-66 (Dec. 13, 2011 at GW)
Bradley point guard Walt Lemon, Jr. scored a game-high 22 points, including the go-ahead points on a 3-pointer with 44.6 seconds left, then blocked GW's attempt at the game-winner at the buzzer, leading the Braves to their only road win of the 2011-12 season … Bradley, which shot 50 percent (8-16) from 3-point territory in the game, overcame a game-high 8-point deficit, 56-48, with 10:50 remaining.

Michigan never trailed, but also struggled to put the Braves away during its first true road game of the season Saturday at Carver Arena … Walt Lemon, Jr. led five Braves in double-figures with 15 points and Bradley shot 52.0 percent (26-50) from the field … Freshman Nick Stauskas made 4-of-5 3-point field goal attempts and led the Wolverines with a game-high 22 points.

 

November Record
After finishing 7-25 last season, Bradley completed this season's first month, November, with a 5-1 record … The five wins last month equalled the 2006-07 and 2007-08 squads, both 5-2, for the most November wins in program history … By adding the 82-65 win Nov. 28 at Central Michigan to the 79-72 win Nov. 17 at IUPUI, Bradley won two November road games for the first time in program history.

 

GW Leads to December Slides
Bradley has lost six consecutive December games since its 67-66 victory Dec. 15, 2011 at George Washington … The current 6-game December slide is Bradley's longest since the Braves lost seven straight December games following another victory against George Washington … After Bradley's 75-65 win against GW Dec. 8, 1999 at Carver Arena, the Braves suffered through a 7-game December slide that carried into the 2000-01 season.

 

Threes at a Premium
Three-point field goals could be at a premium Tuesday night at Carver Arena … Bradley enters the game shooting just 28.2 percent from beyond the arc while averaging only   4.1 3-point field goals per game … The George Washington's opposition shoots 38.4 percent from 3-point range, its first seven opponents have averaged only 5.4 treys per game … The Colonials, however, are shooting 31.0 percent from 3-point territory and average only 2.6 triples per game.

 

It's Warm Inside
Bradley is shooting 54.2 percent (166-306) from inside the arc and the Braves are averaging 41.3 points per game in the paint … Bradley's 2-point field goal percentage (.542) was tied for 27th nationally through games of Dec. 1 … The Braves have outscored their opponents in the paint in each of their five wins and boast an overall 289-168 scoring advantage in the paint … Bradley is averaging a +17.3 points-per-game scoring advantage in the paint … In the 82-65 win Wednesday at Central Michigan, Bradley outscored the Chippewas, 66-24, in the paint.

 

Defending the Paint
Bradley is allowing the opposition only 24.0 points per game in the paint and opponents are shooting just 41.4 percent (103-249) from inside the arc.

 

Defensive Activity
Bradley's defense is forcing 15.7 turnovers per game and the Braves have created 68 steals … The Braves rank 25th nationally with 9.7 steals per game … Bradley boasts a 145-98 advantage in defensive deflections through seven games … The defensive activity has allowed the Braves an 136-78 advantage in points off turnovers … George Washington enters Tuesday's game averaging 17.4 turnovers per game.

 

Ball Control
While Bradley's defense has been turning over the opposition with success, the Braves are averaging only 12.0 turnovers per game … Bradley ranked 289th last season with a 0.79 assists-to-turnover ratio, but the Braves have improved that ratio to 1.32 this year and currently rank 28th nationally in assists-to-turnover ratio … The Braves committed only nine turnovers Wednesday night against Central Michigan's consistent full-court press.

 

Looking Ahead
Bradley will turn its attention to Fall semester final exams following Tuesday night's game against the Colonials … The Braves will not play for 12 days after Tuesday night before returning to action Dec. 17 against Georgia Southern … The 12-day break between games will be Bradley's longest since a 14-day gap in December 2000 … The Dec. 17 game versus Georgia Southern will be the opening game in the 2012 Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic, which will continue at home Dec. 19 versus Mississippi Valley State, before moving to a neutral site at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for games Dec. 22 against Virginia Tech and Dec. 23 against either Colorado State or Portland.
