Box Score WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Sophomore Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) hit a home run and scored twice in addition to pitching a complete game to help power Bradley to a 6-3 victory against Southeast Louisiana Saturday morning at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial.
Lynch-Crumrine, who hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth to give Bradley a 1-0 lead, gave up just one hit in the first five inning and took a shutout into the sixth before Southeastern Louisiana scored three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 3-1 lead.
Bradley (5-8 overall) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the 6-3 victory. Trailing 3-1, freshman Bailiegh Basham (Mattoon, Ill./Mattoon/Lake Land C.C.) led off the inning with a double and the Braves had runners at second and third after a Lynch-Crumrine single. Freshman Alyson Clemente (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley) drove in Basham with a double and Lynch-Crumrine scored to tie things up at 3-3 on a bunt single by freshman Shannon King (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty).
A bases loaded walk by sophomore Brianne Joseph (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) drove in the go-ahead run and senior Julie Sherman (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) scored King from third when she hit into a fielder's choice. Bradley added another run on a wild pitch, allowing sophomore Alex Chandler (Needles, Calif./Needles) to score and push the BU lead to 6-3.
Earlier in the game, Southeastern Louisiana (2-11 overall) scored three runs with two outs in the top of the sixth to go in front 3-1. Trish Bliss was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Katie Matthews drove in a pair of runs with a double to left center.
Lynch-Crumrine tossed a scoreless seventh to earn the victory as she improved to 3-5 on the season. Sherman pushed her hit streak to a team-best five games, going 2-for-4, while Basham also had a 2-for-4 day at the plate.
Vicki Honeycutt took the loss for Southeastern Louisiana, giving up two hits and three runs in one inning in relief to even her record at 1-1.
Bradley continues play at the Phyllis Rafter Memorial later today with a noon (CST) game against Alabama State.
