RIO VERDE, Ariz. -- Freshman Christie Lin (Calgary, Alberta/Sir John G Diefenbaker) and senior Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) turned in the lowest rounds of the day for the Bradley women's golf team, with both individuals carding 76's Saturday to help the Braves move into 15th in the team standings at the Rio Verde Invitational.
Lin shot her seventh consecutive sub-80 round with a second-round score of 76 and Amundrud matched her for team-best honors during Saturday's action as the duo helped the Braves turn in the eighth lowest team score of the day at 312.
Lin finished the day tied for 23rd at 155 after her second round 76 and will enter Sunday's final round one shot out of the top 20. Fellow freshman Thea Hedemann (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan/Walter Murray) fired a 78 Saturday and is five shots back of Lin in a tie for 48th at 160. Amundrud's second-round 76 helped her climb into a tie for 61st at 163.
Sophomore Cassandra Marschall (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield/Wisconsin-Green Bay) will open the final round tied with 81st at 173 after a final round 82, while senior Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) shot an 84 Saturday and is tied with Marschall for 81st (173).
Bradley's second-round 312 helped the Braves move ahead of Ohio into 15th place in the team standings at 649. BU is six shots behind 14th-place Yale (643) and one shot ahead of 16th-place Ohio (650). Akron holds the top spot on the team leaderboard with a 36-hole total of 603. Penn State is one shot back in second (604) and Missouri State is third at 608. Kansas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi are also in contention in a tie for fourth at 609.
The Rio Verde Invitational concludes Sunday with one round play beginning at 10 a.m. (CDT).
