JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Freshman Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) continued his strong play with a one-over par 73 and is tied for fifth in the individual standings, while the Bradley men's golf team is fourth overall at the Bulldog Invitational following Wednesday's opening round.
Coming off a season-best 72 yesterday in the final round of the Benbow Invitational, Masrin fired a one-over 73 Thursday to finish the day tied for fifth at the par-72 Windsor Parke Golf Club. Sophomore Andrew Weisenborn (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) followed up his career-best 72 on Tuesday, with a 76 and is tied for ninth to help pace the Braves.
Sophomore Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) fired a 78 to close the day in 15th, while freshman Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) shot an 80 to round out the team scoring for the Braves. Sophomore Travis Kreiter (Brimfield, Ill./Brimfield) carded an opening-round 82. Complete individual scoring for the first day of play was unavailable Wednesday evening.
Eastern Illinois shot a 292 to finish Wednesday's action atop the team leaderboard. Tournament-host Butler is second at 296 and Wisconsin-Green Bay is third at 306. Bradley is one back of the Phoenix in fourth (307) with Fairleigh Dickinson (5th - 313) and Chicago State (6th - 333) completing the field.
Bradley concludes action at the Bulldog invitational with one round of play Thursday.
