ST. LOUIS - Bradley junior outfielder Mike Tauchman (Palatine, Ill./William Fremd H.S.) added another award to his already impressive list of accomplishments by earning a spot on the All-Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete squad, according to an announcement by the league office Thursday.

Tauchman, who earned honorable mention All-MVC notice for his performance on the field this season, also was an honorable mention selection to The Valley Scholar-Athlete Team, based on a league-wide vote of baseball sports information contacts.  Majoring in business management and administration with a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, Tauchman has earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of the last five semesters.

Tauchman was a second-team All-MVC choice in 2011, when he led the Braves with a .343 batting average and 32 runs batted in.  Though he went down early in the 2012 season with a hamstring injury, he quickly bounced back and went on to finish the year with a .305 batting average, while also leading the Braves with a .338 average in league play.  In three seasons with the Braves, Tauchman has become Bradley's active leader in walks (81) and outfield assists (18).

In order to be eligible for the All-MVC Scholar Athlete team, students must be starters or important reserves, maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and have completed at least one full academic year at their institution.
