PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Amy Angelos (Waukegan, Ill./Waukegan) recorded her 1,000th career kill and sophomore Jessie Tulacka (Westmont, Ill./Downers Grove North) tied for match high honors with 10 kills, but Northern Iowa collected eight blocks and held Bradley to a .154 attack percentage as the Panthers swept the Braves 25-18, 25-23, 25-18 Tuesday at Renaissance Coliseum.

Angelos became the 12th player in program history to reach 1,000 career kills early in the opening set and finished with eight kills on the night to move up two spots on Bradley kills list into the top 10.  She passed Kathy Bickler (1,001 kills) and Andra Dystrup (1,003 kills) on the Bradley career kills chart after pushing her career total of 1,006.

Northern Iowa (12-5 overall, 4-1 MVC) picked up its 11th victory in its last 12 outings with the sweep of the Braves, who dropped to 9-6 overall and 3-3 in Valley play.  Leigh Pudwill paced a balanced UNI attack with 10 kills to tie Tulacka for match-high honors and was one of five Panther players with six or more kills in the contest.

In the opening set, Bradley slowed down the UNI offensive attack with 28 digs, but the Braves managed to hit just .125 against the Panther defense which notched five of its eight blocks on the night in the first set.  Bradley trailed 16-14, when a 3-0 UNI spurt started a 6-1 Panther run as Northern Iowa pushed its advantage to 22-16.  UNI went on to take the first set by the score of 25-18.

The second set was close throughout and Bradley held a 22-21 lead after a Tulacka kill.  Shelby Kintzel answered with a kill and an ace to put UNI back in front 23-22, but another Tulacka kill pulled the Braves even at 23-23.  A Bradley error attack error gave the Panthers set point at 24-23 and Pudwill closed out a 25-23 UNI victory with her fifth kill of the frame.

Bradley collected a combined 50 digs in the first two sets and held UNI to a .205 attack percentage through the first two stanzas, but the Panthers heated up in the third.  The Braves managed just nine digs in the third set and UNI answered with a .464 third-set attack percentage.  The Panthers held 15-12 and 17-13 leads before using a 3-0 spurt to pash the advantage to 20-13.  Bradley got no closer than six points down the stretch and UNI completed the sweep with a 25-18 win.

Tulacka's 10 kills paced the Braves and sophomore Kristi Chynoweth (Parkland, Fla./North Broward) added nine kills of her own while boasting a .438 hitting percentage.  Freshman setter Melissa Hoerber (Fulton, Mo./Fulton) turned in her second straight double-double and fourth of the year with 21 assists and 13 digs.

Pudwill led UNI with 10 kills, while Shelby Kintzel had nine kills and no errors on 21 attacks for a .429 hitting percentage.  Amie Held anchored the back line for the Panthers with a match-high 18 digs.

Bradley closes out a season-long, four-match home stand Saturday with a 7 p.m. contest against Missouri Valley Conference newcomer Loyola at Renaissance Coliseum.
