Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Sophomore Alyson Clemente was one of four Bradley to have a multi-hit game, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI to help power the Braves to a 15-2, five-inning victory against Morgan State Sunday morning at the Tiger Invitational.
Bradley (7-6 overall) roughed up Morgan State for a season-high 16 hits and BU pitchers Mackenzie Camp and Amanda Barna limited the Bears to just three hits as the Braves earned their fourth consecutive victory with the 15-2 win.
Junior Brianne Joseph opened the game with a triple and Clemente followed a Maria Cole infield single with a two-run double to help open a six-run first inning for Bradley. Clemente scored on a Morgan State error and Marina Groenewegen gave the Braves a 4-0 lead with an RBI single. Junior Alex Chandler drove in another run with a double and later stole home, pushing the BU advantage to 6-0.
After the Braves gave up a run in the bottom half of the first, Clemente got things started for Bradley in the top of the second with a one-out double. She moved to second on a ground out and later scored on a wild pitch, making the BU lead 7-1.
The Braves broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning. Joseph singled and eventually scored on Clemente's second double of the game. Freshman Kathryn Spenn added another run with a RBI single and came around to score on a two-out RBI single by freshman Kendall Duffy. Sophomore Shannon King delivered the big hit of the inning with a two-run single to push the Bradley advantage to 12-1.
Spenn drove in another run in the top of the fifth after she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and Groenewegen plated another run when she hit into a fielder's choice. Bradley took a 15-1 lead when a run scored on a double play and the Braves held the Bears to a single run in the bottom of the fifth to close out a convincing 15-2 victory.
Camp earned the victory of the Braves, improving to 2-2 on the year. She struck out three and walked two, while giving up two hits in four innings of work.
Bradley closes out play at the Tiger Invitational Sunday afternoon with a 1:30 p.m. game against Butler.
