Lemon on Golden State Summer League Roster

Voting Underway for Geico Play of the Year

CHICAGO (Intersport) – Voting for Bradley's junior guard Walt Lemon Jr. for the 2013 GEICO Play of the Year opened today, Intersport announced. Lemon's running, banked 3-pointer to beat Missouri State on Jan. 19 won Week 3 voting and is facing off against seven other weekly winners.

 

Each week for eight weeks, four incredible college basketball plays were nominated as the GEICO Play of the Year. Each week's winner was determined by fan voting through the official Facebook page (facebook.com/BestofCollegeBasketball). The eight finalists will now compete in a week-long competition to determine the GEICO Play of the Year. The winner will be announced during the GEICO Best of College Basketball special which airs April 6 on CBS.

 

Tied at 66 with Missouri State, Bradley's Lemon drove the length of the court before launching a deep 3-pointer off one foot as the buzzer sounded. Here are the seven other weekly winners joining Lemon in the finals: Butler's Alex Barlow, Ball State's Majok Majok, Kentucky's Nerlens Noel, Butler's Roosevelt Jones, Arizona's Nick Johnson,Illinois' Tyler Griffey and Eastern Kentucky's Marcus Lewis.
