PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior women's basketball player Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week announced Wednesday after helping the Braves move into sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference standings with a pair of road wins last week.

The Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, Yohn averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 4.5 steals per game, while shooting 73 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range in two wins.  She celebrated her birthday with a season-high 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting and collected a career-best seven steals to go with six boards, two assists and a pair of blocks in a 16-point win at Southern Illinois.

Yohn followed it with a game-high 21 points on 9-for-12 shooting and also had seven rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in a victory at Evansville.  Her three-pointer to open the game at Evansville was her 200th career triple and she passed Carrie Coffman for eighth on Bradley's career scoring list in the second half.  A medical technology major, Yohn owns a 3.38 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Yohn and the Braves return to action Thursday, opening the final home stand of the 2012-13 season with a 6 p.m. game against I-74 rival Illinois State.
