PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Katie Yohn (Elgin, Ill./St. Edward) turned in her team-leading seventh double-double of the year, collecting 18 points and 11 rebounds in the final home game of her career, but Indiana State made three free throws in the final 20 seconds to hold off a late rally attempt and the Sycamores held on to spoil Bradley's Senior Day with a 58-55 win over the Braves Saturday afternoon at Renaissance Coliseum.

Bradley (14-15 overall, 8-10 MVC) finished the regular season sixth in the final Missouri Valley Conference standings and the Braves will face I-74 rival and #3 seed Illinois State Friday in the MVC Tournament quarterfinals in St. Charles, Mo.

Indiana State (18-11 overall, 10-8 MVC) finished in a tie with Northern Iowa for fifth and will play the Panthers Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

The Sycamores used an 11-2 run midway through the first half to take a 21-13 lead nearing the six-minute mark.  Bradley made just one field goal in the final five minutes of the opening half and Indiana State closed the period with a 12-0 run to take a its largest lead of the game (33-18) lead into the break.

Bradley scored the first seven points of the second half to pull within eight points (33-25) and cut the Indiana State advantage to 39-33 with 12:37 left on the clock on a Yohn three-pointer.  Freshman Jenny Smith (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead) later capped an 8-0 Bradley run with a three-pointer, which trimmed the Sycamores advantage to 42-41 with just under seven minutes to play.

Indiana State made a pair of free throws at 5:51 after Travecia Franklin was fouled as the shot clock expired and Kasey Johnson knocked down a baseline jumper at the five-minute mark to push the Sycamore lead back to five (46-41).

Back-to-back BU turnovers helped Indiana State push the advantage back to eight at 53-45, but a Shronda Butts (Des Moines, Iowa/East) driving layup and Michelle Young (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury) hoop made it a four-point game (53-49) with 1:41 on the clock.

Yohn had a steal and hit a runner in the lane with 54.9 seconds left to pull Bradley within two points (53-51) and the teams traded hoops to make it 55-53 in favor of Indiana State with 23.9 seconds left.

Free throws would help the Sycamores seal the game, however.  Natasha Zurek made a pair at the line with 20.4 seconds left and Indiana State's Taylor Whitney split a pair of free throws with 4.2 seconds remaining following a Bradley turnover to seal the 58-53 win for the Sycamores.

Bradley committed 18 turnovers in the first half, but made just four in the second half.  The Braves limited Indiana State to 29.6 percent shooting in the second half, and the Sycamores scored just nine points in the first 14 minutes of the second stanza.

Yohn tied for game-high honors with 18 points and also had a team-high 11 rebounds to go with her two assists and four steals.  She made 4-of-6 three-point attempts, moving into 23rd in MVC history in career three-point field goals as she pushed her career three-point field goal total to 208.  Butts added 13 points and four assists, while Young was 4-of-6 from the field and had 11 points for her sixth consecutive game in double figures.   Senior Brooke Bisping (Morton, Ill./Morton) collected seven rebounds and two points in the final home game of her career.

Anna Munn matched Yohn with 18 points to pace Indiana State in scoring.  Rachael Mahan had 13 points and 12 boards, while Marina Laramie tallied 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench as the duo helped the Sycamores to a 49-33 rebounding advantage and 17-2 edge in second-chance points.

Bradley will face I-74 rival Illinois State Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
