PEORIA, Ill. – Wichita State banged out 18 runs on 18 hits and eventually pulled away for an 18-8 win in eight innings to complete a Missouri Valley Conference weekend sweep at Bradley (11-19, 1-8 MVC) Sunday afternoon at Peoria Chiefs Stadium.

The Shockers (21-16, 7-2 MVC) rode its offensive outburst to sole possession of first place in the league standings.  Micah Green as 4-for-6 with four RBI's, while Erik Harbutz tied the Peoria Chiefs Stadium collegiate record with three doubles and set the stadium standard with six runs batted in.

The Shockers roughed up Bradley starter Eric Scheuermann (2-3) for seven runs on eight hits in just 1.1 innings and never looked back.

Bradley did battle back early, pulling to within 7-6 in the bottom of the second on Paul Solka's 2-run single, but the combination of Foster Vielock (2-0) and Aaron LaBrie limited the Braves to two runs over the final 6.2 innings, allowing the Shockers to regain control.

The first three hitters in the Bradley order each collected two hits, along with third baseman Curtiss Bunch, but Wichita State countered with 17 hits from the first six hitters in its order.  All six of those hitters had multiple hits.

Bradley will return to the road for its next four games, beginning with a non-conference tilt Tuesday afternoon at Northern Illinois.  The Braves will visit Valley preseason favorite Missouri State for a 3-game weekend set, starting with a 6 p.m. game Friday night at Hammons Field.
