Women?s Golf Ties For 10th At Indiana Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Freshman Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) shot a 77 to tie for 20th and the Bradley women's golf team tied for 10th at the Indiana Invitational Sunday afternoon in the team's final tournament before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. 

Lemek posted her team-leading seventh top-20 finish of the year and tied the Bradley season record for rounds in the 70's with her 27th sub-80 round of the year.  She matched Kelly Amundrud's 2010-11 school record for rounds in the 70's with a five-over par 77 to tie for 20th in the 85-person field at 231.  

Fellow freshman Jenna Roadley (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Sturgeon Heights) finished out play at the par-72 Indiana University Golf Course with a third-round 79 and was five shots behind Lemek in a tie for 35th at 236. 

Sophomore Thea Hedemann (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan/Walter Murray) matched her lowest round of the spring with a final round 78 to finish two shots back of Roadley at 238 in a tie for 39th.  Fellow sophomore Christie Lin (Calgary, Alberta/Sir John G Diefenbaker) carded an 80 Sunday and tied for 60th at 245, while freshman Allison Walsh (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Mt. Prospect) rounded out the team scoring for the Braves with an 85 in the final round and had a 54-hole score of 247 (tied for 65th). 

Bradley shot its best round of the tournament Sunday, firing a 314 to tie Southern Illinois for 10th at 946.  Tournament-host Indiana won the team title by three shots, edging second-place finisher Kansas (893) with a total of 890.  Eastern Michigan took third at 917, while Toledo was fourth in the team standings (918). 

Ball State finished fifth overall (924) to edge sixth-place Illinois State (928) by four shots.  IUPUI placed seventh (931), finishing three shots ahead of Dayton (8th – 934).  Akron was seven shots better than Bradley and Southern Illinois in ninth (939).  Indiana's second squad finished 27 shots back of the Braves and Salukis in 11th (973), while Evansville (13th – 975), Valparaiso (14th – 980) and Drake (15th – 992) completed the field, respectively.

The Braves return to action April 21-23 at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in Sunrise Beach, Mo.
