WALNUT, Calif. – Junior Nathan Davis (Lewistown/Lewistown) clocked the second fastest 10,000 meter time in school history and sophomore Kyela Specht turned in a career-best effort in the 800 meters to highlight Friday's action at the Mt. Sac Relays for the Bradley track and field teams.

Davis ran the men's 10,000 meters early Friday morning locally (shortly after 10 p.m. Pacific time Thursday night) and clocked the second fastest time in program history to finish 11th in his heat.  His time of 30:20.35 was 34 seconds faster than his previous career-best effort set last year and was 15 seconds off Charles Perkins' school record time of 30:05.26 from 1984.

Specht also helped highlight the second day of competition for the Braves at the Mt. Sac Relays with a career-best time in the women's 800 meters.  She improved her career-best time by over one second, placing 12th in her heat with a time of 2:12.94.  Specht's time is fourth among career-best times in program history, three-and-a-half seconds off Mary Goldkamp's school record pace of 2:09.37.

Freshman Kristen Busch (Waterloo, Ill./Freeburg) and junior Cassie Lohmeier (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) are scheduled to run in the 5,000 meters at approximately 1:10 a.m. (CDT) Saturday morning to close out competition at the Mt. Sac Relays for Bradley.

The Braves will have a contingent competing at the Long Beach Invitational Saturday afternoon in Long Beach, Calif., with the rest of the teams running at the Huskie Open in DeKalb, Ill., Saturday.
