Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – For the second straight day, Creighton (17-6, 4-1 MVC) had an immediate answer for a Bradley rally and the Bluejays rode 5.0 scoreless innings of relief from Mark Lukowski to a 7-5 Missouri Valley Conference baseball victory Saturday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
Bradley climbed out of a 5-1 hole by plating four runs in the fifth inning, capped by Mike Tauchman's 2-out, 3-run triple. Though Lukowski (4-1) surrendered Tauchman's triple after entering the game with the bases loaded and no outs, he would allow only two more hits the rest of the game.
Creighton immediately reclaimed its lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the fifth. Brennan Murphy opened the home half of the fifth with a single to right, stole second with one out, then after advancing to third on a 2-out wild pitch, scored on a Brad McKewon single.
The teams will close out their 3-game weekend series with a 1 p.m. game Sunday at TD Ameritrade Park.
