PEORIA, Ill. – Junior Andrew Weisenborn (Columbia, Ill./Columbia) birdied his second playoff hole to claim medalist honors and the Bradley men's golf team finished second at the Bradley Invitational Sunday in the only home meet of the 2012-13 season for the Braves.

Weisenborn carded a career-best, four-under par 68 Sunday at the par-72 WeaverRidge Golf Club to tie with Andy Webb of Valparaiso for the lowest three-round score at 221.  The pair went to a second playoff hole, where Weisenborn birdied the par-four 10th to win the playoff and claim individual medalist honors for the first time in his career.  His four-under 68 was the lowest round by a Bradley individual since Zach Wanken on October 7, 2007 at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate in Normal, Ill.

Valparaiso won the team title with a score of 894, holding off a late Bradley surge.  The Braves had three individuals shoot under par and BU's final round score of 282 was a WeaverRidge record.  Bradley's final round score was the lowest since shooting a 282 in October 2006 and is just the second round of 282 since the 1975-76 season.

The Braves finished two shots behind Valparaiso (894) for the team title with a 54-hole total of 896.  Wisconsin-Green Bay was third in the team standings at 903 with Loyola-Chicago (4th – 904), Valparaiso – Gold (5th – 909) and Chicago State (6th – 1,054) completing the field, respectively.

Weisenborn wasn't the only Bradley player to shoot a career-best Sunday, however, with sophomore Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) and junior Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) both firing career-low's with two-under 70's.

Masrin finished one shot behind Weisenborn in a tie for third at 222 for his second career top-10 finish.   Sophomore Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) was also in the individual title hunt, tying for ninth at 225 as he finished out play with a three-over par 75.

Gunther's two-under 70 helped vault him into a tie for 13th at 229, and last year's Bradley Invitational medalist Daniel Young (Metamora, lll./Metamora) carded a 74 Sunday.  Young finished 28th in the field at 237.

Playing the final home round of his career, senior Corey Verseman (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) was in the field as an individual and turned in a career-best 72 to tie with Gunther for 13th at 229.  Freshman Garrett Cox (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) also played as an individual and placed 26th at 235 as he closed out play with a 78 Sunday.

The Bradley men's golf team plays its final tournament before the Missouri Valley Conference Championship April 15 & 16 at the Kemper Sports Intercollegiate in Glenview, Ill.
