SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Freshman Jamie Livaudais (Fenton, Mo./Rockwood Summit) tallied a team-high 10 kills, including six in the third set, but Missouri State handed Bradley a 25-14, 25-11, 22-25, 25-12 setback as the Braves opened the second half of the Missouri Valley Conference schedule Friday at the Hammons Student Center.

Missouri State won its fifth consecutive match and moved into sole possession of second place in the Valley standings with the victory.  Livaudais had a team-high 10 kills to lead Bradley, while junior Lea Sack (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) finished with a team-best 16 digs as she recorded her 700th career dig.

In the opening set, Bradley trailed 13-10 after a Jessica Teel (San Antonio, Texas/Claudia Taylor Johnson) kill, before four consecutive Missouri State points opened a 6-1 spurt to give the Bears a 19-11 advantage.  Missouri State went on to take the first set 25-14.

The Braves were within striking distance at 15-11 in the second set, but Missouri State ran off 10 consecutive points to take the second stanza 25-11.

Livaudais got off to a hot start in the third set and gave Bradley a 22-16 lead with her sixth kill of the frame.  Missouri State chipped away at the BU advantage, however, pulling within two points at 24-22.  Freshman Taylor Thiele (Aurora, Neb./Aurora) capped a 25-22 Braves win with a kill of her own as Bradley forced a fourth set with the victory.

Missouri State, which hit .387 in the fourth set, jumped out to an early 8-3 lead.  Andrea Beaty collected five kills on just six attacks and also added three blocks as she helped power the Bears to a 25-12 victory to close out the MSU win.

Lynsey Wright and Lily Johnson led Missouri State with 16 kills each.  Beaty joined the duo in double figures with 10 kills, while attacking at a .444 clip, to go with seven blocks.

Bradley closes out a three-match road swing Saturday with a 7 p.m. match at pre-season league favorite Wichita State.
