PEORIA, Ill. - Bradley's 2015-16 schedule will be highlighted by the team's participation in the ESPN owned and operated 2015 Gildan Charleston Classic Nov. 19, 20 and 22 at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C.
The tournament schedule will be announced during the summer, but Bradley will be joined in the 8-team field for the 2015 Gildan Charleston Classic by Virginia, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Seton Hall, George Mason, Long Beach State and Towson. The 2014 ACC champion, Virginia was a No. 1 seed in last year's NCAA Tournament, while Oklahoma State also played in the 2014 NCAA Tournament and Towson advanced to last season's CIT quarterfinals.
Unlike Bradley's recent exempt tournaments, all three rounds of the 2015 Gildan Charleston Classic will be played at the neutral setting of Charleston's TD Arena. Participation in the 2015 event will put the Braves in an exempt, regular-season tournament for a ninth consecutive year. The entirely neutral-site setting for the tournament, however, will be Bradley's first since the 2002 Rainbow Classic.
Bradley has made only one previous trip to the Palmetto State, a 59-47 win at Furman Dec. 11, 1984. Bradley has never previously faced George Mason or Towson, but the Braves are 15-11 versus the rest of the tournament field: Long Beach State (0-2), Oklahoma State (9-8), Ole Miss (3-0), Seton Hall (1-1) and Virginia (2-0). Bradley lost a 68-57 decision to one-time Missouri Valley Conference rival Oklahoma State in the third round of the 2009 HoopTV Las Vegas Invitational, but earned a 96-85 win at Virginia in the semifinals of the 2009 College Basketball Invitational and swept a home-and-home series against Ole Miss in 1993 and 1994 in its most-recent meetings against those two programs.
