PEORIA, Ill. – Freshman Jamie Livaudais (Fenton, Mo./Fenton) recorded 10 of her match-high 18 kills in the fourth set and was one of four Bradley players to reach double figures in kills to help power the Braves to a 25-15, 25-27, 27-25, 25-23 victory against Drake Saturday at Renaissance Coliseum to wrap up the 2014 season.

Senior Madison Kamp (Orland Park, Ill./Chicago Christian) joined Livaudais in double figures with 15 kills in the final match of her Bradley career, while freshman Taylor Thiele (Aurora, Neb./Aurora) added 12 kills and sophomore Kelsey Cave (Solon, Iowa/Solon) chipped in with 11 kills in the victory.

The Braves got off to a strong start, hitting .467 as a team in the first set and blew open a four-point contest (15-11) with a 7-2 spurt.  Thiele, who had five kills in the first set win, tallied two kills during the Bradley run and the Braves went on to take the set 25-15.

In the second set, Bradley held set point at 24-21 before Drake made a late push.  Three consecutive Bradley errors after a Drake kill gave the Bulldogs set point at 25-24.  The Braves pulled even at 25-25 on a Cave block, but Drake followed with a kill and a block to even the match at one set each with a 27-25 victory.

Kamp highlighted the third set for Bradley with five kills and the Braves rebounded for a 27-25 win of its own to take a two-sets-to-one lead.  The Braves had set point at 24-22 after an Afton Sobasky (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) kill, but Drake was able to even it up at 24-24.  The teams traded kills again when Cave broke a 25-25 tie with a kill to give Bradley a 26-25 advantage.  Livaudais closed out a 27-25 Bradley win with her second kill of the set.

The Braves had to battle from behind in the fourth set after Drake jumped out to an early 7-1 lead.  Bradley chipped away at the Bulldogs' lead and trailed 10-8 following back-to-back Livaudais kills.  With Bradley trailing 20-17, Livaudais notched three consecutive kills to pull Bradley even at 20-20.  Drake went back in front 22-20 when kills by Thiele and Kamp tied things up for the eighth time in the set at 22-22.  Kamp later snapped a 23-23 tie with her 15th kill of the evening and a Thiele kill put the finishing touches on a 25-23 victory for the Braves, who won for the second time in the final four home matches.

Sobasky finished with 53 assists and 11 digs for her team-best ninth double-double of the year for the most by a Bradley freshman since 2000.  Thiele was the first Bradley freshman with 230 kills and 250 or more digs in a season since 2000 in addition to becoming the first Brave since Lindsay Stalzer in 2005 to lead the squad in both kills and aces.

Junior Lea Sack led Bradley with 19 digs, while sophomore Melissa Hoerber added 18 digs in the win for the Braves.  The pair helped limit Drake to a .177 attack percentage as Bradley held a 65-48 edge in kills and 74-62 advantage in digs.

Makena Schoene led Drake with 13 kills and was one of three Bulldogs to reach double figures.
