NORMAL, Ill. – Freshman Afton Sobasky (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) turned in her team-best eighth double-double of the year with 21 assists and matching a season-high 14 digs, but league-leading Illinois State swept the Braves 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 Saturday at Redbird Arena.

Sobasky's double-double of the year gave her eight on the season for the most by a Bradley freshman since current senior Madison Kamp (Orland Park, Ill./Chicago Christian) had eight as a frosh in 2011.  In addition, Taylor Thiele (Aurora, Neb./Aurora) tied for team-high honors with seven kills to become the eighth freshman in program history with 200 kills and 200 digs.  Freshman Jamie Livaudais (Fenton, Mo./Rockwood Summit) tied Thiele with a team-best seven kills.

Illinois State extended its win streak to 16 consecutive matches with the victory.  Jaelyn Keene led the Redbirds with 12 kills and a .423 attack percentage.  Emily Orrick had 21 digs and three aces to help highlight the win for ISU.

Bradley trailed 13-10 in the first frame when Illinois State took control with an 8-2 spurt to build a 21-12 advantage.  The Redbirds went on take the first set 25-16.

The second set saw Illinois State jump out to a 7-1 lead and the Redbirds later used an 8-1 spurt to go in front 18-7.  Keene had five kills and a pair of blocks to help push ISU to another 25-16 victory.

The Braves were behind early in the third set, but chipped away at the Illinois State lead and trailed 11-10 after back-to-back Redbird errors.  ISU answered with six consecutive points to start a 9-1 run which gave Illinois State a commanding 20-11 edge.   The Redbirds completed the sweep with another 25-16 win.

Junior Lea Sack (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) led Bradley with 16 digs as she moved within eight digs of 800 for her career.  Sack would be the 25th Brave with 800 career digs and just the 11th to reach the 800-dig mark as a junior.

Bradley opens a three-match home stand to conclude the 2014 season next Saturday with a 7 p.m. contest against Loyola at Renaissance Coliseum.
