PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior guard Ka'Darryl Bell (Chicago, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after scoring a career-high 16 points in Sunday's win against Illinois-Chicago.

Bell was 5-for-7 from the field and made 2-of-3 three-pointers to help highlight the victory against UIC.  He also had three assists and three steals in the final non-conference game of the year.  A sports communication major, Bell owns a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Bell and the Bradley men's basketball team open Missouri Valley Conference play Wednesday afternoon with a 1 p.m. game at Loyola.
