Men's Golf Set For Weibring Intercollegiate

Trolia Tied For Fifth; Men's Golf Seventh At Benbow Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Junior Seth Trolia (Mahomet, Ill./Seymour) shot his lowest round of the spring, firing a 72 to finish the day tied for fifth and the Bradley men's golf team is seventh in the team standings after 18 holes at the Benbow Invitational Monday.

Trolia shot his lowest round since early October with a 72 at the par-72 Jacksonville Beach Golf Course to help the Braves fire their lowest round of the spring schedule at 307.  In addition, Trolia extended his streak of consecutive rounds under 80 with his 23rd consecutive round in the 70's or better.  Jose Pablo Segurola of IUPUI is atop the individual standings after shooting a four-under par 68.

Junior Danny Masrin (Palatine, Ill./Jakarta International School) and senior Kyle Gunther (Dunlap, Ill./Peoria Christian) will start Tuesday's final round five shots behind Trolia after both turned in 77's Monday.  Complete individual standings were unavailable Monday night. 

Sophomore Alex Shane (Morton, Ill./Morton/Illinois Central College) shot an 81 and senior Daniel Young (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) opened play with an 84 to round out the scoring for the Braves.

Missouri Valley Conference rival Evansville shot a five-over par 293 to finish the day in first and has a three-shot advantage on Florida Atlantic and IUPUI, which finished Monday tied for second at 296.  Cleveland State is fourth overall at 298, while Drake and Western Illinois closed the day tied for fifth at 300.

Bradley's 307 was good for seventh on the first day of the tournament and the Braves are four shots ahead of eighth-place Savannah State (311).  Tournament-host Butler is six shots back of Bradley in ninth at 313 and Creighton completes the top 10 at 319.  Eastern Illinois sits in 11th (324) and Providence completes the field in 12th (333).

The final round of the Benbow Invitational will tee off Tuesday at 7 a.m. (CDT).
