KISSIMEE, Fla. – Junior Alyson Clemente (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley) scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh in addition to going 2-for-3 with a pair of runs and a RBI to help Bradley to a 6-5 victory against Syracuse Saturday afternoon at the Citrus Classic.

Bradley (6-12 overall) scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull even at 3-3 and took a 5-3 lead with two more runs in the sixth, but Syracuse (5-9 overall) rallied to tie things up in the top of the seventh with a pair of runs to set things up for Clemente in the bottom half of the inning.

Clemente led of the seventh with an infield single and advanced all the way to third on a Syracuse error on a sacrifice bunt.  She raced home on a wild pitch to give the Braves the 6-5 victory and snap a four-game losing skid for Bradley.

The Orange took an early 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the second.  Alyssa Dewes drove in a run with a bases loaded single and a one-out bases loaded walk to Shirley Daniels gave Syracuse a 2-0 advantage.  Bradley turned a double play to get out of the bases loaded jam without any further damage.

Clemente helped get the Braves on the scoreboard in the bottom half of the second after she was hit by a pitch.  Junior Shannon King (San Jose, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) and senior Alex Chandler (Needles, Calif./Needles) both drew walks to load the bases and Clemente later scored from third on a wild pitch to trim the Syracuse advantage to 2-1.

Daniels drove in her second run of the contest with a two-out RBI double in the fourth to give Syracuse a 3-1 lead, but Bradley would tie things up with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.  The Braves loaded the bases with three consecutive one-out singles and sophomore Kathryn Spenn (Williamsville, Ill./Williamsville) drew a bases loaded walk to plate senior Brianne Joseph (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls).  Clemente delivered a run-scoring single to left to pull the Braves even at 3-3. 

Two more Bradley runs in the bottom of the sixth gave the Braves their first lead of the game at 5-3.  Senior Madeline Lynch-Crumrine (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Sedro-Woolley) led off the frame with a single and eventually scored on a Syracuse error.  With runners at second and third, junior Brittany Burgess (Utica, Ill./St. Bede) ripped a RBI single through the right side to put Bradley in front 5-3.

Syracuse didn't go away without a fight, however, tying it up with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh.  Danielle Chitkowski followed up back-to-back walks to open the inning with a RBI double, but the Braves got the first out of the inning by throwing out a runner at the plate on the play.  Riley Johnson knotted the score at 5-5 with a RBI double down the left field line.

In the bottom of the seventh, Clemente singled to open the inning and scored her second run of the game on a wild pitch to seal the 6-5 victory for the Braves.

Lynch-Crumrine earned the win in the circle for Bradley to improve to 4-6 on the year.  She struck out two and walked one in one inning out of the bullpen and moved into sole possession of fifth in career strikeouts at Bradley with the 318th of her career.  Lindsey Larkin suffered the loss for Syracuse as she dropped to 0-2 on the season. 

Bradley closes out play at the Citrus Classic Sunday with an 11 a.m. game against 2013 NCAA Tournament participant Fordham.
