PEORIA, Ill. - Bradley officially will close the door on the BracketBusters series when the Braves welcome former assistant coach Howard Moore and his UIC Flames to Peoria for the men's basketball non-confernece finale Dec. 28.

The game against UIC will be the return game from a matchup created by participation in the 2013 BracketBusters series, which resulted in a last-second, 63-62 Bradley win Feb. 23, 2013 at UIC Pavilion. Chicago native Walt Lemon, Jr. scored a game-high 22 points, but passed to Jake Eastman for the game-winning basket with nine-tenths of a second remaining.

Moore, who served as an assistant coach at Bradley from 1999-2003, is preparing for his fifth season at the helm of the UIC program. He will become the first former Braves assistant to return to Peoria to face Bradley as a head coach since Lennox Forrester brought SIU Edwardsville to Carver Arena Dec. 23, 2008. Overall, Bradley's former assistant coaches are 6-15 all-time when matched up against the Braves as head coaches, including a 3-9 record in Peoria. Tony Barone owns all six wins against the Braves by former Bradley assistant coaches, posting a 6-7 overall record and 3-4 ledger in Peoria as Creighton's head coach from 1985-91.

Coach, Years at Bradley Head Coach vs. BU at BU
Tony Barone, 1978-85 Creighton 6-7 3-4

Moore also will be one of two former Bradley assistant coaches to face the Braves during the 2014-15 season. In addition to the home game against UIC, Bradley will visit Kansas State Dec. 9. The Wildcats staff includes third-year assistant Alvin Brooks III, who was a member of the Bradley staff from 2007-10.

The Dec. 28 home game versus UIC is the ninth of the 13 regular-season non-conference games Bradley has announced this summer. The four remaining games will be played as part of the Corpus Christi Coastal Classic and will include two home games and two neutral-site games in Corpus Christi, Texas. The tournament field and pairings and ticket information will be announced by the event organizers this summer. The remaining 18 games in Bradley's 31-game regular-season schedule will be played as part of the Missouri Valley Conference double round-robin slate, which will be announced in late summer.
