PEORIA, Ill. - A team manager during his freshman year at Bradley, Jackson Kane (Monmouth-Roseville, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville H.S.) has earned a non-scholarship roster spot for the Braves for the 2014-15 season.
A 5-foot-10 guard, Kane transferred to Southeastern Community College for the 2013-14 season and appeared in 19 games for the Blackhawks last season. Teaming with current Brave Warren Jones, Kane helped Southeastern to a 25-7 record and a berth in the NJCAA Region XI Tournament championship game last season.
As a prepster, Kane was a two-year varsity letterman at Monmouth-Roseville High School. During his senior season, he helped the Titans start the 2011-12 season with a 15-0 record. Earning IBCA 2A honorable mention all-state recognition, Kane also helped the Titans win the 2012 regional title. He also played golf and baseball at Monmouth-Roseville.
The addition of Kane gives Bradley a 15-man roster for the 2014-15 season. One of 11 juniors, Kane also is one of seven newcomers to the team, which will open the 2014-15 campaign with an exhibition game Nov. 6 versus Augustana (Ill.) Nov. 6 at Carver Arena.
