Box Score WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State center Darius Carter scored 19 points and shared game-high honors with seven rebounds, leading the 15th-ranked Shockers (13-2, 3-0 MVC) to their 21st consecutive Missouri Valley Conference home win and 25th consecutive home victory, a 64-43 win against Bradley (6-10, 1-2 MVC) Wednesday night at Koch Arena.
Bradley went toe-to-toe with the Shockers for the game's first 24 minutes, but after Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall ignited the crowd with a tirade against the officials at the first media timeout of the second half, the Shockers bullied their way to the blowout.
Bradley led 28-27 at halftime and still was within 31-29 at 15:33, when Marshall blew up. The Braves were hit with an off-the-ball illegal screen 10 seconds after the timeout, but managed to score the game's next three points on an Xzavier Taylor bucket and Omari Grier free throw, before Ron Baker truly ignited the Shockers. Baker hit back-to-back 3 pointers to start an 18-2 run that blew the game open.
Ka'Darryl Bell led three Braves in double figures with 11 points, while Auston Barnes and Tramique Suthlerland both scored 10. Baker scored 12 for Wichita State and Shaquille Morris came off the Shockers bench with 10 points to complete the game's double-digit scoring.
Bradley made just 4-of-22 field goal attempts in the second half, as well as 7-of-15 free throw attempts and the Shockers outrebounded Bradley, 25-12 in the second half.
Bradley will shoot for its seventh consecutive home win Saturday when the Braves open a 2-game home stand against Evansville, a 1 p.m. Valley tip at Carver Arena.
