PEORIA, IL – First-year Braves head coach Brian Wardle used a unique platform to introduce a unique student experience for Bradley Basketball games at Carver Arena. Holding a press conference in the main dining area at the Michel Student Center Friday, Wardle introduced the Red Zone, a one-of-a-kind, VIP Premium Courtside Club available exclusively for Bradley University students during men's basketball games at Carver Arena.
The Red Zone will debut Nov. 4 when the Braves host Edgewood College in their first exhibition game and it will remain open for all 17 games during the 2015-16 home season.
“This project is truly about the students and making their game-day experience better,” said Wardle. “Student support is the life line for any successful athletics program. The energy and impact a full student section can have at a college basketball game is contagious and a true game-changer. It is at the core of creating a home court advantage and making Carver Arena a challenging place for our opponents to play.”
Among the Red Zone highlights:
- Bradley University's student shuttle service now will include pickup on campus at the Garrett Center and will drop students off inside Carver Arena, directly behind the revamped, Red Zone student seating section.
- All of the folding chair seats to the left of the Bradley Basketball Band will be removed and will be replaced with a lounge set up. The section will be blocked by stanchions with entry permitted only by displaying a valid Bradley University Student I.D. card.
- The Red Zone will include its own concessions service with discounted student pricing. High tables will be added in close proximity to the concessions area.
- In-game emcee Josiah Williams also will perform as a DJ in the Red Zone.
- Free WI-FI access exclusive to Bradley students.
- A television inside the Red Zone showcasing the broadcast of the Bradley game.
Bradley University students still may purchase single-game tickets for $1 and access to the Red Zone does not require any additional cost, simply the presentation of a valid Bradley University Student ID at the entry point. The Red Sea student support group remains intact and the $30 membership fee includes tickets to all 17 home games, a Red Sea t-shirt, seating in the front rows of the traditional student seating area and additional, exclusive events with Bradley Athletics coaches and student-athletes.
