PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior libero Lea Sack (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after averaging 6.17 digs and 1.17 assists in the final two matches of her Bradley career.
She collected 20 digs last Friday at Northern Iowa to go with five assists for her 10th outing of the year with 20 or more digs. Sack had 17 digs and two assists Saturday at Drake as she finished the 2015 season with exactly 500 digs to mark just the fifth 500-dig season in school history. Her 17 digs against the Bulldogs pushed her career dig total to 1,346 which is tied with Cindy Novak (1992-95) for third in school history. Sack earned honorable mention Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honors earlier this week. A health science major, Sack owns a 3.72 cumulative grade point average.
Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.
