IOWA CITY, Iowa – Bradley held #24 Iowa to a season-low 60 points and limited the Hawkeyes to 36 percent shooting, but the Braves couldn't muster enough offense in a 60-53 setback Saturday afternoon at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Sophomore Anneke Schlueter (Ulm, Germany/Max-Weber-Schule) scored 12 of her team-best 13 points in the final 8:40 of the contest to help Bradley nearly erase what was an 18-point deficit.

Bradley (4-5 overall) trailed 29-21 at the half and Iowa (9-2 overall) opened the third quarter with a 9-2 run to push the lead to 38-23.  The Braves made just two field goals during a span of over 11 minutes which stretched from the final 3:20 of the second quarter and carried over to the final minute of the third.

Iowa took advantage of the Bradley offensive woes to extend the advantage to 44-26 nearing the three-minute mark of the third period and had a 46-31 lead heading to the final quarter.

Schlueter rebounded from an 0-for-8 start from the field to open the fourth with a three-point play.  The Braves trailed 52-38 with just under seven minutes to play when junior Whitney Tinjum (Stacy, Minn./Chisago Lakes/Washington State) and Schlueter helped spark a rally.  Tinjum helped spark the Bradley run with back-to-back hoops to cut the Hawkeye lead to 52-42.

After an Iowa basket, Schlueter hit her first three-pointer of the game to once again make it a 10-point contest (55-45) with two minutes on the clock.  Bradley got a stop on the other end of the floor and Schlueter added another three to cut the Iowa lead to 58-47 with 1:10 remaining.

Iowa's Ally Disterhoft made a pair of free throws to push the lead back to 57-48, but Schlueter wasn't done and hit her third three-pointer in a span of 70 seconds to trim the Hawkeye advantage to 57-51.

Bradley got a stop on the next Iowa possession and sophomore Tamya Sims (Milwaukee, Wis./Oak Creek) made a pair of free throws with 14 seconds on the clock to pull Bradley within four (57-53).

Disterhoft split a pair of free throws with just under 10 seconds to play, however, and an Iowa offensive rebound on the miss sealed the victory as the Hawkeyes made three of four free throws in the closing seconds to close out the 60-53 win.

Schlueter was 4-for-7 from the field, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, and added two steals in the fourth as she scored 12 of her team-best 13 points in the final nine minutes.  Sims added nine points, five boards and four blocks, while sophomore Shareece Burrell (Des Moines, Iowa/East) collected nine points on 4-of-5 shooting and two steals off the bench.  Schlueter hit three three-pointers and is now the first Brave with three-pointers in each of the first nine games since Erika Nelson in 2006-07.

Iowa averaged 77 points heading into the game, but scored a season-low 60 in the win.  Disterhoft scored 16 points to pace the Hawkeyes, while Alexa Kastanek tallied just four of her 11 points in the final 30 minutes of the game.  Iowa forced 18 Bradley turnovers and held the Braves to 34.5 percent shooting.

Bradley continues a three-game road swing Monday with a 7 p.m. game at Northern Illinois.
