PEORIA, Ill. -- Sophomore forward Donte Thomas (Calumet City, Ill./Thornwood) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after averaging 9.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in two outings last week.

Thomas, who was 4-for-5 from the free throw line in the two games, opened the week with nine points, seven rebounds, three blocks and one steal in a 61-53 home win against Maryville (Mo.).  He followed it up with nine points, three rebounds and one assist Sunday at Boise State in the final non-conference road game of the year.  Enrolled in Bradley's award-winning Academic Exploration Program, Thomas owns a 3.00 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Thomas and the Bradley men's basketball team close out the non-conference schedule tonight with a 7 p.m. game against TCU at Caver Arena.
