PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior center Nate Wells (Davenport, Iowa/Davenport West) has been named the Bradley Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after helping the Bradley men's basketball team to a 56-53 win at Evansville Saturday.

With 17 minutes to play and the Bradley men's basketball team trailing Evansville by 17 points, Wells highlighted a 24-3 run by nailing a pair of three-pointers and scored a career-best eight points during a near seven-minute span to help spark the Bradley comeback.  Wells added one rebound, two blocks and two steals to his eight points to help the Braves to the road victory.  An advertising major, Wells owns a 3.32 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the Country Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Wells and the Bradley men's basketball team are back in action Wednesday night, playing a 7 p.m. game at Drake.
