Women's Golf Tied For 10th After Day One At Amelia Island

Lemek Tied For Second; Braves 15th After Day One At Bearcat Classic

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Junior Danielle Lemek (Doniphan, Neb./Doniphan-Trumbull) broke the Bradley school record for consecutive sub-80 rounds with a 72 Friday to finish the day tied for second and the Bradley women's golf team is 15th in team standings after one round at the Bearcat Spring Classic.

Lemek broke Kelly Amundrud's school record with her 25th consecutive sub-80 round with an opening round 72 Friday to finish the day tied for second.  Lemek, who is two shots off the lead in the individual standings, carded an even par at the Mission Inn Resort's par-72 Los Colinas Golf Course to take over third in Bradley history for career rounds in the 70's or better with her 72nd career round under 80.  Emily Goldenstein leads the field after Friday's opening round at two-under 70.

Junior Jenna Roadley (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Sturgeon Heights) is tied for 67th in the field after an opening-round 83, while freshmen Ally Scaccia (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) and Abby Wellens (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) are both one shot back in a tie for 74th at 84.  Fellow freshman Gracie Henderson (Peachtree Corners, Ga./Blessed Trinity) rounded out the team scoring for the Braves at 90 to finish the day in 93rd.

Junior Allison Walsh (Mt. Prospect, Ill./Mt. Prospect) is in the field as an individual and will enter Saturday's second round tied for 78th after carding an opening round 85.

Memphis leads the field with a team score of 298 and North Dakota State is second in the team standings at 303.  Seton Hall, Seminole State and tournament-host Cincinnati ended the day in a tie for third at 312. Florida Southern finished the day in sixth at 314 with Jacksonville and Northern Illinois closing Friday's action two shots back in a tie for seventh at 316. 

Central Arkansas is ninth overall at 317 and Southern Miss rounds out the top 10 at 317.  Rutgers and Illinois State will open Saturday's action tied for 11th at 319 and the duo have a one shot lead on 13th-place Winthrop (320).  UAB was one shot better than Bradley Friday and is 14th overall at 322, while Bradley is 15th at 323.  The Braves were nine shots better than 16th-place Texas A&M Corpus Christi (332) and Florida Atlantic completes the field in 17th at 337.

The second round of the Bearcat Spring Classic is scheduled to tee off at 6:30 a.m. (CDT) Saturday morning.
