ST. LOUIS - A trio of Bradley men's basketball players earned Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete honors, according to a league-wide vote of sports information directors announced today by the league office.
Bradley sophomore center Xzavier Taylor earned second-team recognition, while junior guard Ka'Darryl Bell and junior center Nate Wells both received honorable mention accolades on the 14-player squad.
Taylor boasts a 3.68 cumulative grade point average as a social work major and last week was named Bradley's 2015 Winter recipient of the MVC Leadership & Service Award. Bell sports a 3.25 cumulative GPA as a communications major with an emphasis in sports communication, while Wells carries a 3.32 GPA in communications with an emphasis in advertising.
Bradley and Northern Iowa were the only two schools with three scholar-athlete honorees. Missouri State and Indiana State both had two honorees, while Evansville, Drake, Loyola and Wichita State each had one scholar-athlete selection.
