DALLAS - Spencer Gaa banged out six hits in two games and Chris Godinez launched a pair of home runs in the night cap, helping Bradley earn a doubleheader split at #16 Dallas Baptist Saturday afternoon at Horner Ballpark.

After Dallas Baptist (26-7, 8-4 MVC) earned a 16-7 win in Saturday's twinbill opener to secure the weekend series win, Bradley (22-9, 3-3 MVC) fought back for an 11-6 win in the nightcap. Bradley became the first team to produce a double-digit run total against the Patriots this season en route to its first win against a nationally-ranked team since a 6-5 victory against #10 Wichita State April 1, 2007 at Dozer Park.

Despite Saturday evening's loss, Dallas Baptist remains No. 1 in the RPI rankings, while Bradley climbed to No. 13 after its 18th win away from home this season.

Junior lefthander Brent Stong (4-2) earned the win in the nightcap by allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits in his 7.0 innings.

After going 4-for-5 with two doubles in Saturday's first game, Gaa was 2-for-5 with a 2-run home run in the first inning of the night cap. Bradley took a 3-0 lead for the third consecutive game in the series when Tyler Leffler doubled in the second inning and scored on an Evan Gruner single.

It appeared history might repeat itself when Dallas Baptist scored once in the home half of the second, then claimed the lead with three runs in the third, but the Braves took the lead for good in the fourth, 5-4, on the first of Godinez's two 2-run blasts. Bradley's active career home run leader belted his second 2-run shot of the day in the sixth inning for an 8-4 lead.

Gruener had an RBI double earlier in the sixth inning and finished 3-for-5 with two RBI's.
