CHARLESTON, Ill. – Freshman Haran Dunderdale (Grantham, England/Carres) was Bradley's top finisher in a pair of races and freshman Kathryn Adelman (Naperville, Ill./Geneva) posted a top-20 time in school history in the 800 meters to highlight action for the Bradley men's and women's track & field teams at Saturday's EIU Big Blue Classic.
Dunderdale picked up where he left off during the indoor track season, posting the top times for the Bradley men in both the 800 & 1,500 during Saturday's action in Charleston, Ill. In the first outdoor meet of his collegiate career, Dunderdale led a large contingent of Braves and finished 19th overall in the 800 meters at 1:58.40.
In the men's 1,500 meters, Dunderdale took 10th overall at 3:58.47, missing a top-10 time in school history by less than two seconds. Junior Marshall Moyer (Burlington, Iowa/Burlington) was close behind in 13th with a career-best time of 3:59.52, while sophomore Steffen Uhrich (Wauwatosa, Wis./East) also posted a career-best time in the 1,500 meters to help pace the Braves.
Adelman crossed the line at 2:17.95 for the third-best time on the squad this season in her outdoor debut. Her time ranks 16th among Bradley career-best marks and was good for 14th in the field.
Senior Kyela Specht (Munster, Ind./Munster) had the best finish of the day for the Bradley women, taking 12th in the 1,500 meters. Specht's time of 4:41.56 was less than three seconds from a career-best effort. Sophomore Casey Kramer (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) was second on the team in both the 800 & 1,500 meters Saturday at the EIU Big Blue.
The Bradley men's and women's track & field teams are back in action Friday and Saturday at the Lee Calhoun Memorial in Macomb, Ill.
