The Bradley Braves Are Coming To Chicago

The Bradley Braves will have a 2-day presence in Chicago next month for a pair of events open to the public.  Bradley Athletics and the Bradley University Alumni Association will host the annual Bradley Chicagoland Golf Outing at Royal Fox Golf Club June 15 in St. Charles and the Alumni Association will host a Wrigleyville rooftop event when first-year Bradley Basketball head coach Brian Wardle throws out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the June 16 Chicago Cubs game versus the Cleveland Indians.

Benefitting all of Bradley University's 15 NCAA Division I athletics teams, the Chicagoland Golf Outing is graciously hosted by Board of Trustees member Phil Wilmington at the beautiful Royal Fox Golf Club in St. Charles.  Bradley head coaches and staff, including first-year Men's Basketball Coach Brian Wardle and Director of Athletics Dr. Chris Reynolds, will participate in the golf outing and address the participants during the post-golf awards program.

In addition to Bradley's Chicagoland alumni, the golf outing is open to Peoria area fans and Bradley Athletics once again will provide round trip charter coach bus transportation from Renaissance Coliseum to Royal Fox.  The bus will depart Peoria at 7:45 a.m. and begin the return home at approximately 7 p.m. from the course.

First-year Braves head coach Brian Wardle will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Chicago Cubs entertain the Cleveland Indians in the second game of a 3-game series at Wrigley Field.  Of added interest for Central Illinois baseball fans, the Cleveland roster includes Chillicothe, Ill. native, pitcher Zach McAllister, who regularly attends Bradley Basketball home games.  The son of former Bradley Baseball player Steve McAllister, Zach regularly attends Bradley Basketball home games.  Zach McAllister has primarily worked out of the Indians bullpen through the early part of the 2015 season, boasting a 3.48 ERA in his 12 appearances to date.

The Bradley University Alumni Association has reserved a block of tickets for the June 16 matchup between the Cubs and Indians for the rooftop at 3643 Sheffield.  Price includes unlimited food and drink (catered by the Cubby Bear) with gates opening one hour prior to first pitch and open until 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game.
